Twisting the night away

They've done it again.
Drama, excitement, GET SCARED, BE VERY AFRAID, everybody duck,
oh.
Sorry.
It's over.

Last night there were two huge storms approaching Tulsa and at about 7 pm they really did look like they were going to converge and explode right over Skiatook Lake (Where me and Ms Donna live). I called her at the hospital and left a message. Maybe you should wait a while before driving home. She had already gone and was grocery shopping.

As she left Tulsa the tornado sirens were wailing. To an Okie that just means to look up and around. Maybe try to get to a sturdy building, not the car. Oh well. She could see that there was plenty of time to drive on home so she did.

She got there just fine and we watched the T.V. all night long. "There's a tornado on the ground in Stillwater and another in Norman". (Far from us).
"There is rotation in Depew headed for Bristow and Bixby". Right toward my Mom. We didn't call her because she goes to bed about 7 and she wouldn't do anything anyway. Just watch and if the whole thing blows down get over there and calm her down.

The storm chasers get so excited about their own 15 minutes that they drive like maniacs around small-town Oklahoma causing more danger than the storms so that they can excitedly describe what is really nothing at all and make it sound like they are useful.

And then there's the tornado tourists and the weather studiers. Good grief, you know which way not to go when you see a speeding convoy with lights flashing, cameras going and strange looking machines all over their SUV's.

Well as usually happens, we spent the entire night watching the same thing over and over and then right at the time they promised it would destroy our little area, it quit.

Nothing at all happened.

They say there were 16 tornadoes in Oklahoma last night but none were actually around here.

Now last Thursday about 5 am there was a real blow that thundered through. They didn't warn us about that one because it came up suddenly like an explosion. We had 10 officially confirmed tornadoes in the Tulsa area.

Sheesh.
Whatdayado.

Beautiful weather is predicted for this weekend. Me and Ms Donna are taking the boat out. The doglings are excited.
