Peace in Our Time

Bicker, bicker, bicker. Rob, steal, argue, disagree. It's all human nature. We hate each other. If you don't hate that guy over there you still want to mistreat him because you hate someone else or something else and they're not convenient right now.

People don't get along. Arabs hate the Jews, Irish hate the British, Persians hate the Arabs, Ethnics have problems, Religions have rivalries, Classes clash and masses don't mesh. None of us seem to get along. But it's all like the family. The kid will pick and pick on his little sister, say he hates her and miserabalize her life. But. Somebody else messes with her and BAM. That kid is the first and foremost protector of his sister over anyone else in the world.

Remember back when the towers fell? Remember how the U.S.A. stood up united? For a short while anyway. Why? We were being messed with. WE were attacked. WE were threatened. We united. We stood together. We were one. So there's my answer. For world peace, I mean. That's how I can end all this war and bickering and hatred.

We're all humans. We all live on this planet together. So the answer is simple because we're all one family. Make me the leader and here's what I'll do. First thing I'll do is make a coalition of movie makers and media types. We would build a huge campaign. We would spread the word throughout the world that the world is doomed. We would warn the people of the world that we are on a collision course with a devastating threat from Mars (or wherever). We would let the citizens of the world know that terrible secret that we are soon to be attacked and invaded by people eating creatures from space. We could make movies showing how our gallant troops band together and fight off the terrible attacks from above.

We could show how Arab and Israeli strike teams risk each other's lives to save each other's earthbound towns. We could make heroes of the Pakistani army combatants who risk and lose lives in order to protect the people of India. And the selfless Indian armies who risk all to save Pakistan. And they do it only because they are all brothers, they are all human beings. And they are all fighting against that disgusting and evil monster (insert movie-made-up-monsters here). The whole world would come together. All the people of all nations and of all ethnic groups would unite. Against a common enemy, all people become one. Brothers all, we would stand together and build weapons (thereby improving the economy) and spread into space (thereby expanding our commerce and exploration). We would improve the world financially and spiritually. Just never let the people know they've been lied to. Hell, the government is good at that. They can lie pretty well. Even when they get caught they lie about it.

I think I could bring peace to the world in our time. I think that everyone would love each other and everyone would especially love me. Use my name this November. Write it on your ballot. Make me king. I'll fix everything.
