Occupancy

Yes I do believe it's a conspiracy.
The police are in on it, the owners of the restaurant are in on it, shoot my wife is even in on it. I know she must be because she denied knowing me over and over while the police were talking to me. She drove home without me so It's a good thing I got a ride from the cops. Although they didn't take me home.

Yes, I probably was disturbing the peace but sometimes there's a darn good reason to cause disturbances. Like when rules are being broken. Like when no one else in the room pays attention to the laws and I see the laws being ignored and broken.

All I wanted to do was count the people in the restaurant. The sign said "Occupancy 59" and I saw a lot of folks in there. What if there were 58 people in there? Sure looked like it to me. If we had sat down in there we might've gone over. If I hadn't taken the responsibility to count them, then I could have been arrested for breaking that law too. I never did get to finish counting. The waiter kept stopping me and when the manager came out, things got pretty testy. I had to start over three times and still didn't finish because the police wouldn't let me.

Those signs are everywhere and people just ignore them. I can't. When I see an occupancy sign I automatically begin counting the occupiers. I'm not going to be in that place when it goes over. I don't know exactly what would happen if it did go over but it's clear that something would. It's clear that somehow there's the risk of breaking some kind of rule or law or something, otherwise why would they have signs? I don't want to be in there enjoying my fine and fancy meal when the SWAT team comes kicking in the doors and windows and throws everybody down on the floor and drags us in for exceeding occupancy. Shoot, I don't even know if it's a misdemeanor or a felony, I just know it's bad. And so I don't want to be a part of it.

I think what we need is a public service. I can help with that. I think I'm going to start a business. I'll place good counting personnel at every restaurant that has an occupancy sign inside. They'll count the people coming in and subtract the people coming out. That way no one is compromised without knowing. If the occupancy limit is getting close, the people will just have to wait. We'll charge each customer a doller (upon entrance only). Of course they'll pay. Why wouldn't they? It's a service to keep them safe.

I'm only thinking of the good of the people here you know. Uh, by the way, the wife isn't answering the phone. Does anyone out there have a little bail money they could part with? This food sucks.
