I was supposed to call the surgeon's office today to see what time tomorrow I should be there to get started being dissected. Didn't do it. Ya see:
I've had this cold since a week ago Tuesday. It has settled in my lungs and I cough and cough and hack and cough. Then I was also stopped up in the nasal arena. I called the surgeon on Monday and the gal there said that I'd need to get clearance (these guys are big on clearance) so I made an appointment with my GP. That's medical talk for general physician, I think.
He says that I wheeze too much to be knocked out. I suppose that makes sense to people who do such things. Plus, after I'm sewed up it might get messy and bloody and exciting if I set off into coughing fits. So he gave me pills and a bottle of cherry stuff and a mist thing so that I can breathe in some drugs. In my exciting days we called that snorting. Now I guess we'll need to call it mystifying.
Now I have to start all over on Saturday. I need to put germ killer in my nose and I need to wash with it every day until the surgery. That way maybe I won't get MRSA and the like.
So let's wait a week.
